Flying Halfway Around the World

Today we received our itinerary for our trip to Hong Kong. That means the tickets have been purchased, so we had better be ready!  It has us leaving Sunday, September 12th at 9:45pm, arriving in LA at 10:40pm. We then fly to Taipei, Taiwan, leaving LA at 1:55am Monday, and landing 6:10am, Tuesday. It will then be a 1 hour 40 minute flight to Hong Kong from Taipei. We leave Utah Sunday night. We get to Hong Kong Tuesday morning.

We have yet to determine when we will leave home to fly to SLC. We need to report to the MTC on Monday morning, September 6th, but we want to go a few days early to visit with friends who live in Utah. Looks like we'll be the Flying Normanos for sure during September!

The Envelope, Please!

Friday, July 2, 2010, the anticipated letter from the First Presidency arrived! We have been called to serve in Hong Kong as the executive secretary, and assistant, to the Asia Area Presidency. What a dream come true! We're excited, nervous, curious, and on the edge of feeling overwhelmed, yet this is exactly what we have been praying for and planning toward.

We acknowledge the Lord's hand in how this has come about, from Craig's situation with work to Bryce's willingness to house-, car- and dog-sit for us, as well as the good health and favorable situation in which we find ourselves. We can't wait!
